Argiolas Carignano Cardanera 2020

$28.90

Sardinia boasts of one of the world’s oldest unbroken winemaking civilisations, going back nearly 5,000 years. Varietals such as Carignan and Grenache (called Cannonau in local dialect) possibly hint to the Spanish rule of the island for centuries, but which have evolved into a quintessentially Sardinian style. Sulcis is a sub-zone in the southwest where the vines grow literally to the edge of the sea. The aromatic “Mediterranean bush” is evident on the nose, along with plenty of ripe red fruit. On the palate it is fresh and savoury with fine tannins.
