Riondo "Casalforte" Valpolicella Ripasso DOC 2021
Casalforte Valpolicella Ripasso DOC is a richly textured red produced by Collis Heritage, a company majority-owned by over 2,000 small growers throughout the Veneto. Their vineyards—many passed down through generations—form the foundation of this wine’s depth and regional character.
Made from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, this Ripasso follows the traditional method of refermentation on the dried Amarone grape skins. This ancient technique, called ripasso, boosts structure, aroma, and alcohol, lending the wine extra depth and warmth. After refermentation, it’s aged in oak barrels to bring integration and spice.
The result is a full-bodied and expressive wine with complex notes of ripe cherry, dried red fruit, soft spice, and a touch of earth. Smooth tannins and a long, satisfying finish make it a classic expression of Valpolicella—with added richness and depth from the Amarone connection.
