Puglia’s oldest winery (1665) also has the accolade of producing Italy’s first commercially bottle rosato or rose wine. Made mostly of Negroamaro – undoubtedly Puglia’s most important varietal – it is juicy with scents of cherry and pomegranate. On the palate it hits the perfect balance between freshness and dryness, making it both very quaffable as well as a delight with food. Try with mussels, shellfish or tomato-based dishes.
