Mastroberardino Irpinia Aglianico 2020

$35.90

Mastroberardino, who have farmed the same land for ten generations, is by far the most acclaimed wine grower of Campania and one of Italy’s top wineries. Possibly one of Italy’s most ancient grapes, famed since Roman times, Aglianico performs best on volcanic soils at altitudes where hot days are followed by cool nights. From the sub-zone of Irpinia where the grapes are very late to ripen, it develops fantastic complexity in the glass with notes of black cherry, dark berries, violet and spices. Aged for 10 months in large oak casks.
