Tenuta Moraia 'Il Pacchia' Maremma Toscana 2021
Il Pacchia is a vibrant, organically farmed red from Tenuta Moraia, a family estate in the coastal hills of Maremma, Tuscany. Part of the Piccini family’s historic wine group, Tenuta Moraia represents their commitment to sustainable farming and modern winemaking in one of Tuscany’s most dynamic regions.
Maremma has long been a frontier in Tuscan wine—a place where traditional Sangiovese meets international grapes like Merlot and Syrah. Wines like Il Pacchia carry the legacy of the Super Tuscan movement, born from this blend of tradition and experimentation. The vines are planted on a mix of clay, sand, and sandstone soils, with southeast exposure at about 100 metres above sea level.
Each variety is fermented separately, then blended and aged for six months in French oak barriques. The result is a deep ruby red wine with ripe cherry, plum, and wild berry aromas, lifted by subtle spice. The palate is full and supple, with vibrant acidity and a long, smooth finish
