The aroma of this unique dessert wine has been described as “Christmas in a bottle”. Visner is made by macerating wild sour cherries (Prunus Cerasus) in Rosso Piceno red wine (a 50/50 blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano) from the previous vintage with the addition of sugar and a small percentage of crushed cherry kernels. The mixture referments and is then filtered and bottled. It pairs incredibly well with all almond based desserts as well as chocolate.
